By Becky Chandler / Kat Rector November 16, 2018

The average American gains between 5-10 pounds over the holiday season! I know I am trying hard to not be a statistic this year but the struggle is real!!!! I reached out to Kat Rector at FIT4MOM for some helpful tips that are actually useful and easy to do. I'm so tired of the tips that say, don't eat the pumpkin pie! What???  tha'ts crazy talk!!! It's Thanksgiving, I MUST eat the pumpkin pie.. so when she sent me these 3 easy tips I thought YES!!!!!  eat the pumpkin pie.... but don't go crazy.. So I hope you find these tips as useful as I did.

3 simple tips to avoid gaining those hard to loose holiday pounds.

1: Start your day with a healthy, filling breakfast! Try whole wheat toast with almond butter and a sliced banana.

2: Go hiking, jump at the trampoline park, GET MOVING! And do it as a family! Take your kids along in the stroller for some fresh air, walk to the grocery store, or even bundle up and run around outside.

3: Plan when you are going to eat goodies. You're more likely to limit your sweets when you have a plan- and share it! Commit to only eating one slice of pie on Thanksgiving, and then enjoy that one slice!

Check out FIT4MOM blog post with really helpful tips to keep moving with kids in stollers. It's so easy to think that because we have little ones in tow we can't work out. But did you know there is a whole group of moms just like you who use their kids as an excuse to get together and work out WITH their kids!!!! There's no stress, everyone at any level is welcome.
