Family-Friendly Fall Festivals to Enjoy in September 2025

1. AutumnFest at Bi-Water Farm

When: September 6 – October 31, 2025
Where: Bi-Water Farm (near Lexington)
Highlights: Kentucky’s largest fall farm festival offers ziplines, trike tracks, hayrides, corn mazes, Bunnyville, Barnyard Babies, paintball target shooting, mini-golf, and food favorites like funnel cakes and fried apple pies!

Why it’s great for families: With a huge variety of attractions and activities, there’s something for every age—plus delicious farm-style treats that make the day extra special.

2. Parktoberfest at Ashland, the Henry Clay Estate 

When: Saturday, September 6, 2025, 3pm - 9pm
Where: Ashland, Henry Clay Estate
Highlights: This event will be featuring all the breweries in Lexington, food trucks, live music and kids programming and will be a celebration of outdoor spaces and community partners. 

Why it’s great for families: The great lawn at Ashland will be lined with stellar beer options and food trucks, a ‘Pretzel Row’ featuring bakeries in Lexington, pockets of kids programming and a full lineup of live music throughout the day.

3. Roots & Heritage Festival

When: September 5-7, 2025 (see website for full list of events)
Where: Elm Tree Lane between Fourth and Short Streets, Lexington, KY 40508
Highlights: A vibrant, family-friendly celebration of African-American culture featuring music, dance, art, food vendors, and cultural exhibits. 

Why it’s great for families: A lively and enriching cultural experience that engages both kids and parents with performances, food, and local artistry.

4. Family Fall Festival at Beaumont Presbyterian Church

When: Saturday, September 20, 2025, 2–7 p.m.
Where: 1070 Lane Allen Rd, Lexington
Highlights: Free entry with family games, crafts, live local music, food trucks and free snacks, plus a pop-up craft market featuring local makers.

Why it’s great for families: A warm and welcoming community event—with live entertainment, creative activities, and no cost to attend—perfect for all ages.

5. HarvestFest at Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill

When: September 20–21, 2025
Where: Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, near Lexington
Highlights: Hands-on fall activities within a historic setting—including hayrides, themed tours, craft demonstrations, outdoor fun, and more. 

Why it’s great for families: It blends educational history with outdoor play—kids love the historic farm setting and parents enjoy the peaceful surroundings and hands-on experiences.
